Playtime Solo shared at Stage Two, Norwich Theatre Royal. December 2024.
“Playtime is a journey through the emotional rollercoaster of being a mother. Emma’s envisions the work in its final form being a multidisciplinary piece using projection mapping so children can be more physically present in the work. It will be further developed with local communities of mothers to reflect shared experience, and possibly feature a live female drummer. But tonight, she presents a series of raw movement tableaux that offer glimpses into a mother’s mind and body; the paradoxes, the joy, the frustration, the sense of grief for the person one was, and the overwhelming sense of transformation into a new being.“
Jez Pike, Head of Creative Development at Theatre Royal.
Pre R&D – Solo Performance
07.10.2023
I performed a five minute solo based on the topic of motherhood and play. This solo is a work-in-progress and made me want to delve deeper into the topics.
PLAY was performed as part of The Autumn Festival of Norfolk in the Blake Studio of the Norwich School.
